Dishes

Do you ever feel broken, worn, and like some one has not quite handled you correctly? Like right now when every request is being questioned by my six year old. In a very whiny voice. Doesn't he realize everything is breaking down around me and I just need a little TLC or some obedience would be nice.

We seem to be going through a break down phase. First the heat, then the camera, now the dishwasher. Dishes! They say things happen in three's, hopefully this is it for a while.

I feel like I have been doing dishes my whole life. I think we started doing dishes around age five. I remember standing on a chair and drying while Todd washed. I would then hand them to Maryann to be put away. When we first received a portable dishwasher I thought it was so cool. We would rinse, then load and my Mom or Dad would hook the dishwasher up to the sink to clean and boy was it loud. I didn't realize that it would still take basically the same work. I think Maryann got out of dish duty for a while, what a rip!

Now I am unfazed by the extra work that goes into washing by hand. The boys on the other hand are complaining to no end and it is only the first day back into the archaic age. I heard today by one little fellow that will go unnamed. "Why do we have to always Set the table, clear the table, wipe the table, sweep under the table every single day of our lives!" Sorry,{Cinderfella} I guess you didn't read the fine print before you chose this family to come down to. "Great Mom, but works you hard." It is all about character and boy do I have some characters in this household.

I soooo...did not get out of doing the dishes and you started either long before you remember or I started younger than you.

As many will remember, I had stitches in my right hand (from middle of index finger, down to palm) when we lived in California. We left California when I was 5 and I think this happened when I was 4 or almost 4. Anyway, because of this event it prevented me from washing. I still had to dry and put away. You may think you have all of the pictures, but somewhere I have a picture of this. I'll try to find it and get you a copy.
