Trying to Catch up......

Sam followed up his wonderful performance in " The Case of the Missing Ring" with a comical performance as a dancing cactus in his Spanish class play. Sam loves acting.
I am done with my "Learn to Row" Class. I can't wait to get out on the water a couple times a week. It is so fun. The rhythm, concentration, speed and team effort make me feel awesome.
Fathers Day was a little tough. Blake woke up with a very high fever and Skip's present did not arrive on time. I stayed home from Church with Blake, while Skip and the rest of the kids headed off to church. Blake had a burst of energy and wanted to decorate for Skip. We cut out streamers, hung them and made signs for Skip and then Blake's energy disappeared. He went to sleep and I made a special lunch for Skip.

Claire went a little overboard with her creations, but it was fun to watch her enthusiasm as Skip opened each one.

There are so many places on the Island to explore. The kids and I headed out to Fort Ward to see what we could find. We studied rocks this year in school. Everywhere we go now the kids question what type of rocks we find.

Skip and Jack were on a fifty mile bike ride, of which I have no pictures, in preparation for the 250 mile bike ride in Aug. They made it home and were very tired, but alive.
Jack enjoyed band very much. After his last concert we headed out to Mora's for their famous Ice cream.

Skip took the boys on a "Father and Son" camp out this year. Then, not to be left out, our ward had a "Father Daughter" camp out. Claire loved the boat ride over to Blake Island. She wanted to be in the tent the whole time. She also received her new yellow boots, took them camping and they worked beautifully.

Jack was offered a great opportunity to go into a professional recording studio and record a few of his piano songs. He was even able to lay down separate tracks on his trumpet. He put the trumpet tracks over the piano for an intensely played "Battle of the Heroes." Then he and the owner edited all the songs and burned them on to a CD. It was awesome!
