Strategy???

Parenting, isn't it fun. So many decisions. Do we allow sleep overs? Do we allow late nighters? What happens when one kid gets all the glory all the time and the other is stuck in the abyss of mediocrity? What about the kid that you thought was so cute two weeks ago and has now some how transformed into an alien from an unknown planet? What is up with the change of personality?These are some questions that have come up lately

We had an impromptu birthday dinner for one of the full time missionaries this evening, which was a joy to do . The boys were totally into decorating and getting things together for a present. Their enthusiasm drew me in and we were all excited for this Elder. Sam even made a box full of balloons and confetti that he wanted to put on the top of the door. When Elder Meyers would open the door all the confetti would fall on him. We couldn't get it to work so Sam just threw it at him. Hilarious!! I love that they could find joy in celebrating someone else, some one that they barely knew.

We left shortly after the party to attend a church meeting, leaving the kiddos at home.

Another question that I have is what to do when you leave your children alone with one in charge and no one listens to him while you are gone? You come home to chaos. The one in charge claims one thing. You think," This is the older more responsible one I will believe him." The younger one claims something else, then becomes so angry he cries. He is supposedly in bed. You are sitting down relaxing on the couch watching the game, the wafting sound of a paper airplane comes into your ears and then a crashes at the bottom of the stairs. You walk over and pick up two airplanes.{ you think, "Did one of my kids just throw these down and the stairs and then sneak back to bed? YES!}
Inside the planes are notes to you. " I am cuming down cus I am SAD and ANGRY!!!!!!!!!! What is this? What do I do with this? It is kind of funny, I did laugh a little {not out loud}. I mean really, I have never heard of such a thing. We did talk to him and got... another story? Frustration is setting in. Then we talked to the older one again....another story. This is a circle. What to do? We need to leave occasionally. We need a better strategy!
