Lessons We Are Learning

The blessing box is a blessing in so many ways. Blessing number 1: The kids are loving counting socks, computers, doors and lights. Some things are getting more organized. Blessing number 2: They are asking more questions about the world and what they can do to help.

Blessing number 3: It is also great for math. We are doing lots of skip counting 5's, 10's, 25's. Wonderful for Blake. Also sorting and counting money, Blake is eating it up. Claire wants to get in on it too. Sam is the trainer!

Everyone pitched in to bake cookies. We are very serious about raising money to help Grandma and Grandpa help the kids in Tobago. Because this is a service project we started with a prayer. Even though we can't be in Tobago we can still feel of their spirit.

I told Claire we were making the cookies for some other people to which she responded with a big smile," Will they share?" "Sorry, sweety I don't think so." I said. "Your supposed to share."she said with a very worried face. The kids added all the ingredients and then we whipped up a batch of very flat cookies. We had to start over. I was so bummed, not the kids though they got to eat the flat cookies and Claire got to share!

Here she is pounding out the almonds for the very flat cookies. Maybe she pounded too hard?

The cookies were made in the end and so were several loafs of bread. We had so much fun delivering them. I took a few pictures but no such luck. The kids sang their hearts out... Of course we caroled it is Christmas time!
